You are a low-level employee, sorting through a mysterious collection of genetic samples for the Ringo CorpoNation, an oppressive, corporately-owned state. Keep up the appearance of a productive citizen, whilst aiding a growing rebellion.
CorpoNation was first prototyped in August 2020, using Unity. We wanted to create a game loop that humorously recreated the monotony of working life and examined greedy corporate power.
- Memory Game: Sort through genetic samples, dragging them into tubes based on their characteristics.
- Desktop Computer: Choose how to spend time away from work and discover the world of the CorpoNation. Complete corporate surveys, read news or level-up your character in the State-Approved Gaming portal.
- Room Customisation: Buy products to customise your pod to your liking.
- Gameplay Loop: At your day-job, you will sort samples, after which you will return home to your living pod. There, you can use your desktop computer to discover the world and contribute to the economy. Your routine is disrupted when you are recruited by a rebel group who want to destroy the system from the inside.
